Licensing Your Pet is the Law
All areas within Ada County require dogs to have and wear a license. Each city has their own licensing and outside city limits, in un-incorporated Ada County you must purchase an Ada County license. Failure to license or to renew your dog’s license could result in a citation, monetary fine and court fees.
If you have any questions about licensing your pet, contact the Idaho Humane Society at (208) 342-3508.

Ride Home. IHS Animal Control Officers make every effort to return licensed animals home while in the field, preventing your pet from even coming to the shelter.
Contact in Case of Emergency. A current license allows you to be reached should your pet need urgent veterinary medical treatment.
